Looking at videos for inspiration

I have been looking at different types of videos in form of inspirations for editing. Even vlogs, can be edited to form a type of 'abstract' video. My ideal process is to show the development and the movement of the person behind the camera into a entirely different scene. Its such a strange concept to be travelling anywhere with the lockdown, but I was insipred by the vlogs on youtube and art films to create something that looks like both.

After thinking of ideas and watching general video editing for inspiration, I suddenly wanted to show my trip in a certain way that might sound crazy if I try to explain it.

Seeing as we spent most of the year in lockdown, it feels weird for the general public to be out and about and spending so much time in nature again. I came across effects that remind me of old 'tv static' I'd experience as a child in my old,big TV - I wanted to test and edit if my "fresh" and "bright" looking videos could look like some 'old TV show' . The whole idea of showing the world as if it was a old TV show, because its been so long since ive been out in nature; makes me feel a little uncomfortable- almost as if its not real. I like the discomfort in that. In that sense, Prehistoric documentaries have also inspired me; watching my edited videos almost felt like I was watching some "dinosaur extinction" videos; and it gave me a certain aura and vibe from it that made my videos more powerful in terms of emotion,than I originally intended - although its not something I wanted to change; I liked this emotion. I initially started out with the idea of wanting to document the every day life just to show how depressing lockdown has been this time around; but the more I edited my work, the more attatched I became to the idea of showing everything as if it was a 'vivid' dream.
