Mimmo Rotella was an artists that created pieces which almost looked like 'scraped' off posters. While his work may not be digital, the texture of his collages bring an incredible depth and make it look like a illustrative piece. He was the first artist I came across when studying collage, and in a odd way he inspired me that not everything in my work has to look 'perfect' and that sometimes mistakes,accidents or unintentional work can turn out much better than originally planned.
danai gkoni has a more modern approach to her digital art, and often makes collages about the modern world contrasting against bright or unnatural colours. Her work has inspired me to clash 'old and new' or something that simply contrasts each other beyond colour,may that be texture ,colour,subject or topic.
